Kurt Zouma is now a ‘severe doubt’ for West Ham United v Lyon – ExWHUemployee

West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma is currently considered a “severe doubt” against Lyon, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has shared the huge update, with bad swelling and bruising failing to disappear at this moment.

The Irons could look to seek scans today [Tuesday] or Wednesday should that disappear in the next 24 hours before flying out to France.

Zouma’s 19th minute header cancelled out Spurs’ early opener and ensured a point for West Ham.

Writing on his official Patreon page last night [11 April, 11:07 pm] Ex shared the latest on the Frenchman and his availability.

“The news we have so far is that he has bad swelling and bruising around his ankle as already reported at Claret and Hugh,” he wrote.

“The club are unsure if there is further damage and will seek further scans tomorrow or Wednesday if the swelling goes down.

“At the moment it is too early to say what the injury is and the recovery time but Thursday’s game is considered a severe doubt at this moment in time sadly.”

West Ham

Awful.

David Moyes will be raging at these developments over the past week.

The Irons will now be going into one of their biggest games in years without potentially three of their best defenders, that is disgusting.

Aaron Cresswell is suspended after that shocking red card last week, and Vladimir Coufal hasn’t been at 100% fitness.

Now add Zouma to that group and we nearly have our entire first-choice backline missing from the must-win showdown.

So, who can come in?

Ben Johnson will hopefully be fit to start on the left, and that leaves Issa Diop to partner with Craig Dawson in the heart of the side.

Hopefully, this will be strong enough to cope with a strong Lyon side, but we haven’t exactly been blessed with developments going into this one.
