Kral faces uncertain future after ‘hard’ time at West Ham – report

Alex Kral is facing an uncertain future at West Ham after suffering a ‘hard’ start to life in the Premier League, according to Sport Express

The 23-year-old has barely featured for the Hammers, playing just one minute of league action since coming to east London on a season-long loan at the start of the season.

Kral’s failure to make an impact in England has left his future up for debate with Spartak Moscow and West Ham set to assess the situation at the end of the season.

“It all depends on me. The two clubs will make a decision in the summer,” Kral told Sport Express.

“There is an option to return to Spartak. But there is also the possibility of staying at West Ham. Maybe to go to another club. Nobody knows what will happen.”

He added “Of course it’s hard for me. I’ve never been in a situation where I wasn’t playing. At Spartak, I was on the field every game,”

“But I know what the coach wants from me. I need to work on myself. It is very important. I must take the chances I have. I have to play the way the coach wants.

“Of course, this is a different level. I think that the level of the Premier League is very different from all other leagues in general, if we are talking about intensity and power. I’m glad that I can progress in the best league in the world.”

Bad timing

Unlike his Czech Republic counterparts, Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek, Kral has failed to hit the ground running at West Ham.

It is bittersweet really. Thankfully the team have been playing well enough that we haven’t really needed him but that doesn’t bode well for his Irons career.

If he was that good of a player, surely David Moyes and the coaching staff would have seen that in training, and he would have been given more of a chance in the first team.

The nature of the loan deal means other than the wages forked out for Kral, the Hammers haven’t lost a great amount.

He still has the rest of the season to turn things around at the London Stadium if he does want to remain at the club.

The future is very much unknown, but it could have been a simple case of bad timing for Kral to come to West Ham because the generally brilliant form of these players have kept him at bay.

He is a really talented footballer who will undoubtedly go on to have a great career even if the Irons don’t play an essential role in it – other than the learning he is doing from struggling at a team, something he has never done.
