Klopp v Salah: Jamie Carragher explains what caused touchline incident in West Ham United v Liverpool

Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool fans not to pick sides following an argument between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp against West Ham United.

The Hammers rescued a point against the Reds as Michail Antonio headed home just as the away side wanted to make a triple change.

This levelled up the game following Jarrod Bowen’s opener being cancelled out by Andy Robertson and Alphonse Areola’s own goal.

What caught the eye was a heated argument between Klopp and Salah on the sidelines. Now Carragher has taken to X to share his view and urge fans to stay calm.

He said: “Mo Salah & Jurgen Klopp are both Liverpool legends. We don’t need to take sides! Salah is frustrated & angry with Jurgen that he’s not playing & at that moment didn’t want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.

“Mo was daft with his comment in the moved zone but let’s let them sort it out & enjoy the last few weeks together. They’ve been a massive help to each other in all that’s been achieved at the club!”

Did West Ham deserve to win against Liverpool?

The Hammers took away a well-earned point from the London Stadium against a Liverpool side who have struggled for form recently.

They were coming into the game off the back of a Merseyside derby defeat at Goodison Park for the first time in 14 years.

Klopp would have wanted to secure a win to bounce back from the defeat and West Ham managed to nullify them to a draw.

It must be said that the away side managed to have 28 shots on goal while only having eight on target throughout, according to FotMob.

West Ham managed to create 0.70 xG but the Reds were able to register 1.75 of their own.

Antonio scored a great header which levelled the game up after Bowen grabbed his second goal involvement of the game.

It must be said that Liverpool dominated the majority of proceedings and can feel unlucky not to have taken all three points.

A well-earned point for Moyes who got a handshake from Salah for his troubles, even if Klopp didn’t…
