Keown head over heels for West Ham man

West Ham United’s decision to re-appoint former manager David Moyes as Manuel Pellegrini’s replacement certainly wasn’t a universally popular decision.

A large section of the supporters were very against it, seeing it as an underwhelming and backwards move by the board.

However, the former Everton chief has made an instantly positive impression back in east London, with two wins in two thus far.

Former Premier League winner Martin Keown is certainly a big fan of the Scot.

West Ham

“He’s got to go to work to try and rescue them, they’ve had a terrible start to the season,” he said on talkSPORT.

“Good reaction since he’s gone in charge. I expect him to go to to work, and the transfer market is probably something he wants to do quickly.

“Now he’s more decisive in his management. I think he’s an outstanding manager and I think it was a good appointment for West Ham.”

West Ham Zone’s View

In the short-term, Moyes’ appointment looks marvellous. However, it has only been two games, and his team haven’t been properly tested yet.

Sheffield United will certainly give them that on Friday night, and we’ll know more about where the Moyes iteration of the Hammers are at after that game.

Keown is clearly a fan, though, and he’s right that Moyes will probably want to get his transfer work done quickly.

In other West Ham news, the Irons boss is reported to be ready to experiment with a new formation.
