Kaveh Solhekol: West Ham United not London club to bid for Sevilla star Diego Carlos

Kaveh Solhekol has insisted that West Ham United are not signing Sevilla defender Diego Carlos before the end of the January window.

Speculation went wild on Thursday after David Ornstein shared that an unnamed club from London had rivalled Newcastle with a bid for the Brazilian.

Solhekol has spoken out, sharing that it is a “fact” that West Ham aren’t that club at this moment in time.

Speaking live on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show, Solhekol whittled down the clubs it could be going in for Carlos.

“I know for a fact it’s not West Ham United,” he said.

“That leaves Chelsea, Spurs, Crystal Palace and I’m not sure Crystal Palace are looking to sign a centre-back or spend £30million on a centre-back.”

West Ham

No chance.

There is no chance of GSB funding this big of a move in the January window, even with Daniel Kretinsky also involved.

West Ham look for small bargains in the winter window such as Jesse Lingard in recent windows, with this type of money not being spent.

Kurt Zouma is on the verge of a return from his injury, and he will be the only marquee big-money centre-back at the club once the January window slams shut.

Carlos would be an unreal signing, but it looks as though it may be another club in the capital bringing him to the Premier League.

Our defence is a real problem right now, but hopefully, that changes once Zouma is back in the picture – fingers crossed.
