Juventus agree £58k/week deal to sign West Ham target Filip Kostic

Juventus have reportedly agreed on a £58k/week deal to sign West Ham target and Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Filip Kostic.

According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, the Hammers wanted to sign the Serbia international but the move for Maxwel Cornet has now seen them end their interest in Kostic.

The fact that the Old Lady have agreed on personal terms including a three-year deal with him will make it nigh on impossible for the London outfit to convince the 29-year-old to join.

Move on

While Cornet is not an out-and-out left-back, he certainly can play in that position and will probably do if the Hammers do not sign another full-back this summer.

It may not be ideal, but he is extremely proficient going forward and can combine well with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and whoever David Moyes deploys on the left flank.

He is also four years younger than Kostic and more importantly, is Premier League proven – something which is more important given that many overseas signings have struggled to adapt.

West Ham could be better off looking for a younger first-team option if Moyes sees Cornet further up the pitch.

Kostic clearly seems to be wanting to play in the Champions League and will be getting that if he moves to Turin.

Juventus are still to reach an agreement with Frankfurt over a fee and even if they don’t, the Hammers will be better off looking at alternatives rather than trying to convince a player who doesn’t really want to join.
