Justin Osagie appears to seal West Ham exit to join Celtic

West Ham youngster Justin Osagie appears to have completed a move to Celtic as a picture has emerged of him holding their jersey.

Fraser Fletcher, a journalist who’s worked for BBC Scotland said that it was a done deal and a move to Celtic Park had been completed.

Looking at the picture, it seems that the formalities are in place and he could be announced as a Hoops player in the coming hours.

Via Twitter, Fletcher wrote, “Celtic have signed Highly Rated talent Justin Osagie from West Ham. The 17 year old joins on a permanent deal from the hammers. ⚒️🟢

“The player is eligible for England and Nigeria and can play Centre back and midfield.”

Right choice?

The Hammers pride themselves on having a good academy that lends players to the first team in terms of injury crises.

We’ve seen youngsters getting handed their senior debuts many a time because of it and that’s why it’s important to have a good academy setup.

While many also work with the senior side during pre season, only a few really catch the eye of the manager and it seems like Osagie did not really do that.

If so, the Hammers would’ve tried hard to keep him as he isn’t going to go on and become a first-team player and play in the Champions League at Celtic Park.

Hopefully, the choice to let him go does not seem to bite West Ham in the future as he does seem like a kid with plenty of potential.

The club now need to look at incomings as they’re already on the cusp of signing Gianluca Scamacca and could make a move for Filip Kostic as well.
