‘Just hanging on’ – Ally McCoist makes James Tarkowski claim amid West Ham interest
Ally McCoist has questioned whether moving to West Ham United would be a good decision for Burnley defender James Tarkowski.
The Hammers have recently had an offer worth up to £27million bid rejected for the Clarets enforcer, as they look to strengthen their defence.
Sky Sports on reported on Monday that the Irons have been told to raise their offer closer to £50million by their Premier League rivals.
McCoist claimed that Tarkowski will be sitting and waiting to see what happens, with West Ham highly unlikely to meet that figure.
“When you talk about £27m,” he told talkSPORT.
“That’s a great price because he’s a good player, he’s definitely a good player. You’re taking a chance on that all day.
“If you’re sitting in his shoes, is it a good move for him going to West Ham at this moment in time? I’m not sure it is.
“Maybe he’s just hanging on to see what will happen.”
Looking from the outside in right now, it appears highly unlikely that many players would be seeking out a move to the London Stadium.
David Sullivan, Karen Brady and David Gold are once again being put under immense pressure after the sale of Grady Diangana.
The players and fans have come together to speak out against the owners over their shocking transfer policy, so there definitely won’t be a £50million offer flying in.
Tarkowski is currently sitting in a Burnley side who are far away from controversy and are well established in the Premier League, in what world would he swap that for the Irons.
