West Ham United make right call with Julen Lopetegui sacking

The East London club struggled under the Spanish manager in the current campaign, who has left them in 14th position in the Premier League table.

Despite being handed quality signings in the summer transfer window, the former Wolves boss was unable to make a mark at the London Stadium.

At the start of the campaign, the Hammers were expected to challenge for a European spot in the league table, but Lopetegui underperformed.

West Ham have made the right call by sacking the Spanish head coach, but David Sullivan could have taken the decision earlier.

Potter’s arrival will undoubtedly excite supporters as they hope for better things to come for the remainder of the season.

The 49-year-old manager failed to live up to expectations at Chelsea, but his time at Brighton should encourage the London Stadium faithful of what’s to come.

With the players at Potter’s disposal at the East London club, something special could be about to happen.

Lopetegui severely damaged the hopes of the fans at the Irons and the ex-Chelsea boss will be expected to steer the ship in the right direction in the coming weeks.
