Journalist slams ‘shaky’ Vladimir Coufal and Emerson in ‘bad news’ West Ham United claim
West Ham United have looked “a little shaky” in the full-back positions amid their six-match winless run in all competitions.
That is according to journalist Alex Keble, with the Hammers having drawn four and lost two of their last six matches.
Up next for the East London club is a Premier League clash with Arsenal, which will take place at the London Stadium on Sunday (11 February).
“Thankfully for Mikel Arteta, West Ham are winless in six matches in all competitions and throughout that period have looked a little shaky in the full-back areas,” Keble wrote for the official Premier League website.
“Alejandro Garnacho had the beating of Emerson in Man Utd’s 3-0 win last weekend, scoring twice from that wing, while Vladimir Coufal struggled to contain Marcus Rashford.
“Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have scored five goals between them in Arsenal’s last three matches. Both appear to be back to their best. That spells bad news for the West Ham full-backs.”
West Ham in a rut
David Moyes’s side are undoubtedly in a rut, with the East London club last winning a match at the end of December, which was ironically against Arsenal.
The Hammers surprisingly won that Premier League clash at the Emirates 2-0, but things have gone massively downhill since then.
League draws with Brighton, Bournemouth and Sheffield United have followed, along with a draw and defeat against Bristol City in the FA Cup third round.
And piling on the misery was Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday (4 February), much to the frustration of Moyes. Unfortunately, it won’t get any easier, with Arsenal going strong under Arteta and keeping one eye on the title.
The upcoming clash is, however, on home soil, with the West Ham faithful certain to be in full voice as they cheer on their players in this London derby.

It should be an exciting encounter, with the two clubs having very different reasons for wanting to clinch all three points.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has made a “light a fire” prediction on an exit-linked Hammers player.
