Jimmy Walker blown away by Patrick Schick, wants him to join West Ham
West Ham favourite Jimmy Walker was blown away by Patrick Schick’s magnificent goal against Scotland at the EUROs, which was undoubtedly the best of the tournament so far.
Prior to Schick’s strike, West Ham attacker Andriy Yarmolenko proudly claimed the honour, but after looking at the Czech striker’s goal, there’s only one winner.
A few metres ahead of the halfway line, the Bayer Leverkusen forward noticed that David Marshall was off his line and hit an ambitious effort with 0.01 xG only to see the ball find its way into the back of the net.
This goal surely entertained everyone bar the Scotland players and fans, and it also caught the eye of former Hammers goalkeeper Jimmy Walker.
The Hammers favourite took to Twitter to discuss the goal before linking West Ham to the player.
He said, “Ooof some strike that Schick. Got a West Ham player written all over him.”
Like the idea of that
While there’s not been any credible interest in the player thus far, it’s no secret that we’re keen on signing a striker this summer, and Schick would be an exceptional option.
He’s good at holding up the ball, has an eye for goal and is willing to run the channels to stretch the opposition defences.
David Moyes and David Sullivan were both in attendance at the game, possibly to watch Alex Kral, but they could’ve seen Schick’s performance and gone back home impressed by what they’ve seen.

However, signing him from Leverkusen would be a problem as he just moved to the German club last summer.
It’s also unlikely that they go for him for a fee less than £25 million having themselves paid £23.85 million to acquire his services. [Transfermarkt]
