Jim White shares definite West Ham sack update on Nuno live on air – ‘100 per cent’

Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at West Ham looks to be confirmed following their defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers came into the game off an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Wolves, and they failed to bounce back against Forest.

West Ham went 1-0 up through a Murillo own goal, but Nicolas Dominguez equalised with a header before Morgan Gibbs-White converted a penalty to earn Sean Dyche’s side all three points.

The East London outfit are now seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League, with their chances of survival rapidly decreasing.

West Ham make Nuno sack decision

West Ham face QPR in the FA Cup third round on 11 January, in what could be a welcome break from Premier League action for the Hammers.

There have been rumours that Nuno could be sacked by West Ham before the London clash, with the East London side in real danger of relegation to the Championship.

However, presenter Jim White has revealed that the Portuguese manager is set to remain in charge for the FA Cup tie.

Speaking on talkSPORT, White confirmed that he had spoken to sources at West Ham who said that they are 100 per cent sure Nuno will be in charge for the QPR game.

He said: “Interestingly on West Ham, the news came through to me yesterday after I’d pushed for it that Nuno will stay on – he will 100 per cent stay on for the next game, which is against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup.”

Who could replace Nuno Espirito Santo at West Ham?

Michael Carrick is the current favourite to take over at West Ham if they do decide to dismiss Nuno.

The former Manchester United midfielder was most recently at Middlesbrough in the Championship, but was sacked at the end of last season.

Slaven Bilic is also in the running, and would reportedly be happy to take the job on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Bilic has a spell at West Ham between 2015 and 2017, and has been out of management since August 2024.

However, for the time being at least, it seems that the Hammers are sticking with Nuno.
