Jim White says Kurt Zouma subject to maximum fine if West Ham find guilty

Jim White has shared that Kurt Zouma will be subject to a big fine at West Ham if he is found guilty.

The Hammers returned to winning ways after beating Watford 1-0 in the Premier League on Tuesday but the post-match discussions were largely centred on Zouma.

A video of Zouma kicking his cat was released on social media, and it sparked mass outrage among everyone for his abhorrent behaviour.

West Ham

David Moyes was severely criticised by the football community. There were calls to drop the player but Moyes went ahead and picked him.

White has shared a statement from West Ham that stated that it was the manager’s call, and the owners felt vindicated.

With West Ham challenging for the top-four spot, Moyes did what he felt best for the team, neglecting the moral consequence and the wide repercussions.

White relayed the information on talkSPORT: “There was a feeling that not starting Zouma would have punished the team. It was Moyes’ decision to play him, and the owners feel vindicated. If he is found guilty he’ll be subject to the maximum fine.”

Big decision

It was a big decision from the manager and the club, and it’s a poor one.

The club’s brand image has been tarnished with one poor judgement, and frankly, one that could have been easily avoided.

Obviously, handing him a ban for the rest of the season is over the top, as the 27-year-old needs education. He has apologised and a chance should be given for atonement.

Having said that, the decision to include him is not only ludicrous but the club basically threw him under the bus as well.

He was given a hostile reception at the London Stadium last night, and the club should have reintegrated him after the dust had settled down.

More than the fine, and a match ban, the Frenchman needs proper education.
