Jim White aims thinly-veiled swipe at West Ham fan on talkSPORT after England debate
England’s Euro 2020 semi-final victory over Denmark has sparked mass debate on talkSPORT, leading Jim White to take a bizarre swipe at West Ham fans.
The country has been in a state of euphoria after Three Lions reached their first major tournament final since 1966 on Wednesday night, but the subject of simulation reared its ugly head again with England stars Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane accused of diving against the Danes at Wembley.
Former Sky Sports anchor White led the debate on the airwaves during the ‘White and Jordan’ show on talkSPORT the following day [10:28, 08/07/21], asking listeners to call in and voice their opinions on the matter.

Somehow, the subject turned to West Ham.
White said: “There’s another one [message] coming in I’m just seeing, oh it’s a West Ham fan, why does that not surprise me.
“Oh, ‘Jim White on talkSPORT this morning is so anti-English’.
“No I’m not one bit, keep it coming if you want but you’re wasting your time.”

Strange
We’re not quite sure how the discussion shifted from Kane, Sterling and simulation to West Ham fans being under fire from White, but here we are.
Does White have some sort of personal vendetta with Irons supporters? Has he been repeatedly subjected to criticism or abuse from fans?
Who knows, but one would suspect that there are historical suggestions behind his comments.
Unless, perhaps, he is referring to the club’s strong links with the England national team, given the strong West Ham core that played such a vital role in our 1966 World Cup victory.
Its an identity that has slightly lost its way in modern times given the various struggles at the club in the 21st century, with relegations and the starving of major cup success.
However, with Irons midfielder Declan Rice now playing such a crucial role in the England team, it feels like that link is getting stronger once again.
Rice has been instrumental for Gareth Southgate’s side, and it’s a sight warmly received in east London and other West Ham fans up and down the country.
In other West Ham news, Paolo Di Canio has admitted that this Irons star has blown him away amid a near ‘Impossible’ mission.
