Jesse Lingard wants to join West Ham United this week
Jesse Lingard wants to join West Ham and he has made his choice, as per ExWHUemployee.
Writing on his Patreon on 19 July, the reliable Hammers source reported that the player “wants to sign this week”.
The former Manchester United attacking midfielder has given the club until the end of the week to try and reach an agreement with him.
If they fail to do so, he will choose another club that can offer him more money.
Get it done
The Hammers are actively looking to bolster their forward department this summer, and they must do everything to bring Lingard to the club.
The 29-year-old impressed heavily during a short loan spell, and David Moyes will be hoping that he can still get the best out of him.
West Ham are also looking to add a couple of strikers with the likes of Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca being heavily linked with a move.
Lingard on a free transfer will add depth in the attacking midfield areas, but it seems he is demanding a high salary.
West Ham are showing ambition in the transfer market, and this could prompt Declan Rice to change his decision and sign a new contract at the club.
The Hammers have made three signings already, but it would represent a dream transfer window for the club if they can land the likes of Broja, Lingard and Scamacca.
Having reportedly chased Lingard all this time, it would be an anti-climax if the Hammers pass on the opportunity to sign him when the player actually wants to join them.
