Jesse Lingard seems set to stay with Manchester United and not join West Ham
Jesse Lingard seems set on turning down a move to West Ham and staying with Manchester United, according to a report from The Athletic.
They claim that there are “clubs interested” in signing the 28-year-old with the Hammers at the front of the queue, there have been no “significant developments”, and Lingard has informed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he “wants to stay and fight”.
This follows on from a recent report by Sky Sports, which claimed that West Ham believe they have a very low chance of signing Lingard, and as the transfer window edges closer to its conclusion, it seems unlikely that the 28-year-old will be moving to the London Stadium.

Move on now.
The start of the Premier League season is just over a week away, and West Ham have been waiting and waiting for Lingard, but it appears as if the England international wants to stay at Old Trafford.
Therefore, it is now time for the Hammers to move on and try to bring in another attacking midfielder because it doesn’t seem as if Lingard will be moving to the London Stadium.
Another player who the Hammers were heavily linked with was Matheus Pereira, but he looks to be off to Saudi Arabia, so who will West Ham go for now?

Well, they were linked with a move for Sao Paulo’s Igor Gomes, and this could be one to keep an eye on because, as it stands, Lingard will not be returning to the London Stadium [Homme du Match].
This is a huge shame, but the Irons can’t sulk and must now act in the transfer market, or they could be leaving David Moyes short.
