Jesse Lingard has moved on from West Ham interest

Jesse Lingard is no longer keen on moving to West Ham, claims Paul Brown.

The England international spent the second half of last season on loan at the Hammers, and put in an impressive performance for the London outfit.

He was pursued in the summer, but Brown, who’s a reporter for the YouTube channel The Football Terrace, believes that while there may have been some interest on Lingard’s end in the summer, he now seems to be happy at Manchester United.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT, “I think Jesse Lingard has moved on. He said himself after that game when he was asked the question about West Ham, it’s time to move on and he considers himself a Manchester United player. He’s still getting minutes and is still contributing.”

End of the story

For the entire summer, the club seemed to be going back and forth about their pursuit to sign Lingard.

At times, it felt like there was a realistic chance of the Hammers signing him, but it did not materialise in the end.

His decision to stay at Old Trafford was a surprising one as he’s barely featuring for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and despite scoring against West Ham, he’s probably fifth or sixth in the pecking order at the club.

David Moyes would certainly love to have a player like Lingard, who has been labelled “amazing” by Rio Ferdinand. [Five]

While we would love to see him at the club, it seems highly unlikely that anyone inside the London Stadium would be able to tempt him to leave.

Having signed Nikola Vlasic in the summer, it might be time for the Hammers to put all their eggs in that basket and give him some time to flourish.
