Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham United Premier League clash v Tottenham Hotspur for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling is predicting that West Ham United will fall to yet another defeat when they face Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (19 February).

The Hammers currently sit two points above the relegation zone before the weekend’s fixtures, but are on a good run of form having not tasted defeat in any of their last three Premier League fixtures.

However when making his gameweek predictions for Sky Super 6 (17 February), Soccer Saturday host Stelling expects David Moyes’ side to fall to a 1-0 defeat in north London.

Tottenham come into the game having been thumped by Leicester in the Premier League last weekend, and then losing on their trip to AC Milan in the Champions League in midweek.

Chance

Not many people will be expecting West Ham to get a result this weekend, and that’s fair enough considering the form we’ve shown all season.

However we likely won’t get a better chance to take three points that nobody is expecting than this game, considering the fact Spurs have been awful for a while too.

West Ham

Aside from their form, they’re suffering big time with injury problems. Their midfield is very light on numbers with Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma out injured long-term, and their attackers have struggled to hit the heights expected too.

West Ham have improved greatly in recent weeks both defensively and offensively, and if some of the players that have been suffering with injuries can recover for the game we’ll have a big opportunity.

We need to start getting results, and quickly, to move away from the relegation battle and there is no better opportunity to do that than by getting one over on Spurs.
