Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham United Premier League clash v Liverpool for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has made his prediction for the Premier League clash between West Ham and Liverpool at the London Stadium on Wednesday night (26 April).

The Hammers moved six points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand after their 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday (23 April), all but securing their status as a Premier League side for next season.

Next up they face top four hopefuls Liverpool, and while making his predictions for Super 6 (24 April), Stelling backed David Moyes’ side to continue their good form with a win with a 1-0 win.

Safety net

The recent results we’ve had in the Premier League have given us somewhat of a safety net from relegation, but we cannot have the mentality that we are already safe.

The players will know just how quickly things can change at the bottom of the table with teams so close together and so few games remaining, so we must stay focused.

Liverpool have been far from their best this season, and on the road especially they have been very average. That is something we should be taking confidence from.

West Ham will be keen to keep their momentum and form high ahead of their Europa Conference League semi-final clash in a couple of weeks time, so this performance is still important.

A win will certainly ensure that we’re out of trouble, so the hope is that we can prove Mr. Stelling right and put all our focus into Europe for the rest of the season.

It would be the perfect way for Moyes to sign out his career as boss.
