Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham United Premier League clash v Leeds United for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has predicted the outcome of West Ham United’s Premier League clash against Leeds United in his Sky Sports Super Six picks.

The Hammers head into the clash at the London Stadium with their Premier League status now secure after Leicester’s loss to Liverpool on Monday evening (14 May).

David Moyes’ side are looking to bounce back after their 2-0 loss to Brentford whilst Sam Allardyce’s men are in desperate need of three points after drawing 2-2 with Newcastle at Elland Road last time out.

However, Stelling believes the game will end all square, with the Sky Sports host predicting a 1-1 draw in East London on Sunday (21 May).

Pressure

There’s plenty of pressure on Allardyce’s shoulders as he returns to the London Stadium. He’s been given the unenviable task of ensuring Leeds remain a Premier League club. It’s certainly been a turbulent season at Elland Road.

Jesse Marsch was given the job last season, but the American seemed to be on a one-man mission to alienate as much of the Elland Road faithful as possible. The appointment of Javi Gracia seemed rushed and ill-thought-out and destined to fail.

There’s certainly been improvement under Allardyce but the clock is now ticking. Had the former Hammers boss been given the job a couple of weeks earlier, there’s every chance the Yorkshire giants would’ve secured their Premier League status by now.

It’s important for Moyes’ men to give the West Ham fans something to cheer about heading into the last home game of the season. The Scot still has his doubters and a positive performance could well bring more of the fanbase back on side.
