Jean-Clair Todibo sends two-word message after Manchester United transfer

Jean-Clair Todibo endured a tough spell with West Ham last season.

Todibo joined a poor West Ham side on loan last summer, which turned into a permanent deal at the start of the transfer window.

The French defender featured 27 times for the Hammers during the 2024/25 campaign, and he will remain at the London Stadium after a £34.2million obligation to buy was exercised.

The 25-year-old has now reacted to one of his ex-teammates’ transfers, which could have huge effects for the Hammers.

Todibo reacts to Bryan Mbeumo transfer

West Ham have been busy themselves during the transfer window.

The Hammers have sold Mohammed Kudus for £55million and have also brought in El Hadji Mallick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters.

Now, Todibo has reacted to Bryan Mbeumo’s post announcing his move to Manchester United.

The former Brentford man posted an image on Instagram (22 July) of him signing his contract with the Red Devils, captioned “New chapter”.

Irons’ defender Todibo added a comment to the post saying “C’est fort”, which translates to ‘it’s strong’ in English.

The pair played together between 2018 and 2019 at French side Toulouse before Mbeumo joined the Bees and Todibo joined Barcelona.

The Toulouse account also commented a blue heart to show their appreciation to the former winger who is set to bank them a healthy sell-on fee.

Mbeumo grabbed a goal against the Irons for the Bees last season, and the Cameroon international could haunt West Ham again next campaign.

Todibo must impress for West Ham this season

West Ham face making another costly loss should Todibo fail to perform again this season.

The 25-year-old needs to prove to Graham Potter that he is worthy of a place in his starting line-up next season.

Potter may not have signed the centre back if it wasn’t for the obligation to buy clause in the contract, and he could still look elsewhere to bolster his defence.

The East London outfit has been linked with defensive recruits, such as Taylor Harwood-Bellis, but luckily for the Frenchman, the Hammers seem to be prioritising other areas of the pitch first.

West Ham have been looking to add to their forward line this summer, with Harvey Elliott and Jack Grealish among the names linked with a move to the London Stadium.
