Jarrod Bowen set to start for England v Australia after excellent West Ham United form
West Ham star Jarrod Bowen is set to start for England in their friendly against Australia at Wembley on Friday night, according to a report by The Times (13 October).
Bowen has been in fantastic form in the Premier League this season for the Hammers, earning a recall to the Three Lions squad after being left out of recent squads by Gareth Southgate.
Now the England manager is set to ring the changes in a friendly to give fringe players an opportunity to impress, with Bowen set to get the nod from the start on the right wing.

“The England manager plans to experiment in the friendly and give some squad members the chance to represent their country at Wembley for the first time,” they wrote.
“Levi Colwill is set to make his debut and Jarrod Bowen is also likely to feature from the start, with Southgate raising the stakes by saying they must seize the opportunity in front of them.”
Deserved
England have been crying out for a left-footed right winger who can push Bukayo Saka or a starting place, and Bowen has emerged as the prime man.
Despite so much competition for places with the likes of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford and James Maddison in those attacking positions, Bowen has put himself in a position where he has earned the opportunity.

Previously he hasn’t really shone for England when given the chances, but now he is seemingly in a different mindset and ready to accept the responsibility that is needed.
If Bowen is used in a similar way for England as he is at West Ham then there is no doubt that he will be a success, and a goal against the Aussies absolutely shouldn’t be ruled out or considered a shock.
He’s earned his chance and now he has to take it. Saka is out injured and there is a spot open for someone to start in that position against Italy next week, and Bowen is in prime position to claim it.
