Jarrod Bowen is doing something no other Premier League player is doing this season

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has been a diamond in the rough for his club this season.

The Hammers currently sit 19th in the Premier League table and have won only one of their opening six games.

West Ham possess some unwanted stats this season, but their captain is continuing to shine despite the poor form his side have shown.

Bowen has performed at a high level for West Ham this season and has been leading his club by example.

Jarrod Bowen out on his own as new Premier League stat emerges

The 28-year-old has bagged over 10 goals in successive seasons and looks set to continue this streak, having already netted three times for the Irons.

Bowen’s equaliser against Everton secured West Ham‘s first point away from home this season as his left-footed strike sent the travelling supporters wild, and simultaneously became the first opposing player to score at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Even though the Hammers’ captain has scored three Premier League goals, according to FBref, he has only registered and xG of 0.8.

This means he is the only player in the league to have outperformed his xG by two or more goals.

Bowen‘s additional two goals came against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old ranks as West Ham’s second-highest Premier League goalscorer and has played over 30 league games in every full season he has been with the club.

Jarrod Bowen will spearhead a West Ham U-turn

Bowen has crafted himself a legendary status at West Ham.

He has scored over 50 Premier League goals for the Hammers and scored the winning goal in the victorious Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina.

Although Bowen has been impressive in front of goal, he has been remarkable in his build-up play for West Ham.

The stats highlight that the team revolves around their captain, and he is a player at the London Stadium who leads by example.

West Ham have one more fixture at the Emirates Stadium before the international break, and they will be praying their captain remains injury-free during his international duty.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are not favourites against Arsenal but Bowen will be a crucial player in the game and for matches in the future.
