Jamie Redknapp blown away by ‘unbelievable’ Lucas Paqueta in West Ham United win v Leeds United
Jamie Redknapp was full of praise for Lucas Paqueta after the West Ham United midfielder starred during the 3-1 win over Leeds United.
Goals from Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen and Manuel Lanzini saw the Hammers secure an impressive victory in their last home game of the campaign.
Paqueta produced a couple of memorable moments during the win over Sam Allardyce and Redknapp was left awestruck.

“In the second half, Paqueta was unbelievable, unplayable,” said Redknapp (Sky Sports Premier League, 15:30, 21 May).
Finish with a bang
That was a superb way for West Ham to conclude their home campaign. Leeds actually started the brighter of the two teams, so it was excellent for David Moyes’ side to come from behind. Now, the focus will change. The Conference League clash against Fiorentina presents the Hammers with a tangible chance of some silverware.
If West Ham can do the job in Prague, it will go down as one of the club’s most successful seasons. Next year, a top-ten finish has to be the goal for the Hammers. Under Moyes, West Ham have been a regular feature in the top six and that’s where the board want the club to be competing.

In a league which is continually getting harder, West Ham cannot be left behind. The likes of Newcastle, Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford are now all knocking on the ‘big six’ door. It will be intriguing to see what kind of backing the Hammers receive this summer. Declan Rice will almost certainly depart and bring a big fee into the London Stadium.
It will be interesting to see just how much of that fee is handed to Moyes.
