Jamie Carragher slams Graham Potter as West Ham sack date predicted

Jamie Carragher has run out of patience with Graham Potter at West Ham.

West Ham fell to defeat at Crystal Palace last time out as supporters were pushed to their limit at the London Stadium.

It is fair to say that Potter deserves to be sacked by West Ham, with worrying statistics continuing to emerge from East London.

Slaven Bilic has been linked with a West Ham return as a result, with Nuno Espirito Santo also emerging as a potential candidate should Potter be sacked.

Carragher has showcased his disdain for the Englishman in E20, echoing the widespread opinion among the claret and blue faithful right now.

Jamie Carragher unimpressed by Graham Potter’s record

It will certainly be interesting to see what road David Sullivan decides to go down when it comes to the head coach role at the Olympic Park.

Plenty of names have emerged as targets, with Frank Lampard being the latest link to West Ham, after a difficult start to the season.

Many outside of the Irons believe that the sack verdict is coming too soon for Potter, with just five Premier League games played.

It isn’t just these matches that have left the E20 faithful fuming with the ex-Chelsea boss, it is his entire record since coming in as manager.

This has seen Carragher speak out via Stick to Football on 25 September to slate Potter for his general record as Hammers head coach, and predict that he will be gone if West Ham lose to Everton and then Arsenal on 4 October.

He said: “It’s not early because Graham Potter’s whole time there, since he came in, hasn’t been good enough. It’s not just the start of the season.

“I think most people were probably thinking that he could lose his job off the back of Crystal Palace at home.

“The next two games are away at Everton and Arsenal, two tough games. I’d be very surprised if Potter is the manager after the next two games.”

Jamie Carragher spot on with West Ham verdict

It is fair to say that the jury is mostly out on Potter and is growing fed up with his side’s performances.

The constant selection of players like James Ward-Prowse continues to baffle supporters, only adding to the annoyance at the London Stadium.

This falls into the same frustration that Carragher has, who is right to suggest that the Englishman could be on his way out in the coming weeks.

Two losses and poor showings against Everton and Arsenal would be even more of a tipping point than the Palace defeat, further summing up the issues that Potter has right now in E20.
