Jamie Carragher shares new Liverpool title verdict in West Ham United prediction
Jamie Carragher has suggested that West Ham United will struggle against Liverpool with the Reds in title-winning form.
The Irons welcome the league leaders to the London Stadium on Sunday (29 December) and Julen Lopetegui will be eager to build off the three points and clean sheet his side gained against Southampton.
However, the Hammers face a much tougher test in the side who are at the opposite end of the table to their previous opponents and unbeaten in 13 Premier League games.
Jamie Carragher is backing his former side in this one. as he wrote in his Sky Sports Super Six prediction: “Liverpool are in title form and it will be very tough for West Ham to stop them.”
West Ham face almighty test against Liverpool
Despite a tough start to life at West Ham for Lopetegui, his side looked like they were starting to head in the right direction in recent weeks and victory against Southampton meant they rose to 13th in the table, six points from the top six.
However, going into a game against a Liverpool side who are in excellent form is always going to be a tough game, especially for a side that are no doubt seeking to build some momentum.
Unlike previous times this season, Carragher’s prediction isn’t a reflection of him writing the Hammers off but rather praising their opposition for being in the unbelievable run of form they find themselves in. Unfortunately for the boss, this will be a tough game for his side.
Nevertheless, all the Irons can do is give their opponents the best game they can and try to deliver a highly organised performance in the hope of getting something out of this game.
With the matches coming thick and fast over the festive period, there is always the opportunity for anyone to be beaten.
