Jamie Carragher predicts scoreline of West Ham United v Manchester United clash

Jamie Carragher has predicted West Ham United will claim a point when they take on Manchester United on Sunday (27 October).

The pundit believes the Hammers will walk away from the London Stadium with a 1-1 draw against Erik ten Hag’s side as he gave his predictions for Sky Sports Super 6 [24 October].

Julen Lopetegui’s side lost 4-1 to Tottenham last weekend – a fourth loss in eight Premier League matches for the Spaniard since taking charge in East London.

West Ham United must beat Manchester United

Time is running out for Lopetegui at West Ham as he faces now-or-never territory at the London Stadium after his side hit rock bottom in the defeat to Tottenham.

Mohammed Kudus has been charged with violent conduct by the FA following his red card for kicking out at Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both sides have also been charged with “failing to ensure that their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way.”

The Hammers are now just five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League and anything less than three points this weekend could be the end for Lopetegui.

His arrival was supposed to mark the dawn of a new era at the Irons, with the club eager to move on from David Moyes, but the experiment has since fallen flat and the clear lack of a footballing identity within the new-look side presents a bleak situation at the club.

It has been claimed that Lopetegui is under no immediate pressure heading into the match against Manchester United [Sami Mokbel]. However, the supporters are growing restless and the stance could change quickly should another defeat befall the side.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers must sign this player in the January transfer window.
