Jamie Carragher predicts if West Ham or Manchester United will qualify for Europa League
Jamie Carragher has backed West Ham to qualify for the Europa League ahead of Manchester United on the final day of the season.
The Hammers travel to Brighton while Man United take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park – knowing a win will see them secure sixth place.
For West Ham to qualify, they must hope that Manchester United drop points to Palace and that they can better their result against the Seagulls.
Carragher has predicted precisely that to happen. He told The Telegraph, “West Ham. They need a slip from Manchester United, but how many United players will be motivated at Crystal Palace? My suspicion is that West Ham want this more.”
Let’s do this
Manchester United are in freefall after the shambolic season that they’ve had.
They seemed to take their foot off the pedal a few weeks ago and most of their players appear to be on the beach already.
Their leading goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out of the game and they have other key first-team players missing.
Expecting them to drop points against an able Palace side is not too much to expect.
David Moyes’ men need to get the job done themselves and beat Brighton on the final day.
They have been in good form recently so the Hammers will have to be at their best to pick up three points from this one.
We cannot wait for the action to get started.
