Jamie Carragher expects nine-month first for West Ham in Burnley score prediction
Jamie Carragher is expecting West Ham United to overcome Burnley in this weekend’s Premier League clash.
West Ham will welcome Burnley to the London Stadium on Saturday in their latest Premier League fixture.
This comes after West Ham secured a 3-1 win over Newcastle United last Sunday, ending their six-game winless streak in the league.
The game was also Nuno Espirito Santos’ first win since replacing Graham Potter as manager back in September.
As a result, fans will be cautiously optimistic heading into their latest must-win match against the Clarets.

West Ham predicted to secure a narrow victory vs Burnley
West Ham are the favourites to win against Burnley, and Carragher seems to agree.
The pundit has predicted via Sky Sports Super 6 on 7 November that the Hammers will secure a 2-1 victory over the Clarets.
If correct, West Ham will earn consecutive wins for the first time since February – nine months ago – when they beat Arsenal and Leicester.
Furthermore, victory would also bring Nuno one step closer to decreasing West Ham’s relegation chances, given that Burnley are one spot above them in the Premier League table.
With three points between the two sides, and the Clarets ahead on goal difference, the Hammers can advance to safety if they score a lot and concede little.

Either way, the stakes are high, and given the circumstances of both teams, the game promises to be one full of action from beginning to end.
Nuno Espirito Santo must get one thing right against Burnley
West Ham have kept just one clean sheet in the Premier League this season. Indeed, the Hammers have one of the leakiest defences in first division.
With 21 goals conceded, West Ham are second behind Wolves for the most in the league.
Burnley, on the other hand, are faring marginally better:
- The Clarets have conceded 19 goals this season
- They have kept two clean sheets
Interestingly, Burnley have conceded the most expected goals per game in the Premier League.
This reveals two things. The first is that Martin Dubravka is having a monstrous season, and the second is that the Clarets’ backline isn’t impenetrable.
Therefore, Nuno should head into this game knowing that his team will have opportunities to score, but also understanding the importance of defending well.
