Jamie Carragher compares West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen to Robbie Fowler
Jamie Carragher says West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen reminds him of Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler after his goal against Leicester on Sunday.
Bowen ran through on goal and slammed the ball into the corner with his left foot after just ten minutes to make it seven goals in his last seven appearances for the Hammers.
Carragher, who was working for Sky Sports as a pundit on the game, discussed the finish during the half-time break and said that the goal was ‘reminiscent of Robbie Fowler’, in big praise for the 25-year-old.

“I’m just thinking in that type of finish, it’s reminiscent of someone like Robbie Fowler, that sort of player,” he said.
“That’s what it feels like with Bowen when he’s in those situations, you just expect him to score.”
Compliment
Being linked to a player of the past who is held in high standing is always a positive. But being compared to a player nicknamed ‘God’ by his fans is a huge deal.
Bowen has improved his game tremendously this season and has added goals and end product to his weaponry, making him a huge hit with Hammers fans.

He has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp a big fan of his, so this could be Carragher’s way of getting him in with the fans nice and early.
West Ham will be hopeful that the noise doesn’t get to Bowen’s head though, as they press ahead in their chase for the final Champions League place.
Bowen has scored 12 goals and assisted nine more in all competitions this season, cementing himself as one of the first names on David Moyes’ teamsheet.
