Jamie Carragher changes mind for West Ham United prediction v Burnley, adds Jarrod Bowen verdict

Jamie Carragher has predicted far more action for Burnley versus West Ham as the Super Six deadline looms on this weekend’s matches.

Originally giving his predictions on The Overlap (November 23), Carragher predicted a short but sweet 1-0 victory for West Ham at Turf Moor, with Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright agreeing unanimously.

While the Liverpool legend still believes that the visitors will take all three points, his most recent forecast sees West Ham become 2-1 victors against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side, which he gave for SkyBet’s Super Six game.

“Jarrod Bowen may be missing for West Ham, but I expect West Ham to get the job done at Turf Moor,” he wrote.

Another Hammer blow for Burnley

It would be expected to see David Moyes’ side claim all three points against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, even despite the potential of a missing Bowen and missing home advantage.

The Clarets have had one of the worst start to a Premier League season, claiming just four points from their opening 12 matches and sit bottom of the table below fellow strugglers Sheffield United and an imploding Everton.

West Ham United

The only worry that Hammers fans may have is their away form. Sat 12th in the away form table, West Ham have won twice, drawn once and lost three, with a goal difference of minus three. These losses include a 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, a 4-1 romping from Aston Villa at Villa Park and an exciting 3-2 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

If there were a time to play West Ham, it would be while their confidence on the road is shot and Burnley have exactly that opportunity, looking to claim their second win of the league season.

The two sides also have a history. During the 2021/22 season, the two fixtures both ended in a stalemate – 0-0 at Turf Moor and 1-1 at London Stadium.
