James Ward-Prowse West Ham United transfer will be completed

James Ward-Prowse to West Ham United will be completed during the summer transfer window, according to Daily Express journalist, Ryan Taylor.

The Telegraph reported on 8 June that the Southampton midfielder is currently valued in the region of £50million.

Talking to GIVEMESPORT, Tayler believes it’s a move that will be completed with Saints’ relegation playing a part.

West Ham

“I expect Ward-Prowse will get done. Obviously, the relegation of Southampton has strengthened West Ham’s position, and he’s got leadership qualities, and qualities on the ball, in terms of set pieces, crossing and scoring goals. So I think that’s a no-brainer, really for West Ham,” he said (25 June).

Right price

It’s all about the price when it comes to the 28-year-old.

Anything upwards of £30million would be rather steep for a player who isn’t going to improve upon his current level at present. His dead-ball prowess is mightily impressive but is he the replacement for Declan Rice – probably not?

It feels as if Rice’s transfer saga is reaching some sort of conclusion. The 24-year-old will almost certainly depart in the coming weeks, with Arsenal the most likely destination.

Manchester City are also showing strong interest in the England star, but, as has been the case for a while, The Emirates is his preferred destination.

West Ham

It’s absolutely essential that West Ham land their valuation of Rice. They cannot afford to be lowballed by Arsenal due to Rice’s eagerness to move to North London.

If City come in with a big offer. The board would be foolish to turn it down.

When Rice does depart at least one top-quality midfielder will have to arrive to ease the blow of losing the England star. David Moyes will probably be looking for multiple recruits in that area moving forward.
