Jack Wilshere shares transfer prediction for West Ham United ace Declan Rice, ‘perfect fit’ for Premier League rival
Jack Wilshere believes West Ham United captain Declan Rice would be a “perfect fit” for Premier League rivals Arsenal.

And Arsenal Under-18s coach Wilshere, who played alongside Rice during his spell at West Ham from 2018-2020, believes the England international would progress even further in North London.

“He’s a midfielder who can do anything,” said Wilshere, as quoted by Sky Sports. “Anyone who supports any club would want Dec to join. If I’m talking from a selfish point of view, in north London, I think he would be very good under Mikel’s watch.
“Mikel would develop him, bring him on even more and he would be massive for the team as well. I have had conversations with Dec and told him what he is doing is unbelievable, he is captain of a big Premier League club and is always learning.
“You have to be respectful to West Ham, that is his club, but his future is in his hands and it’s very exciting for him because he’s got everything with him now and he’s picking up more and more, he’s growing into this man who could play anywhere. I’m looking forward to wherever he goes. I hope it is Arsenal, it would be a massive signing and a perfect fit.”
Moving around the capital
Rice spent the majority of his youth career in West London at Chelsea, making the move to West Ham in 2014, with a potential move to the north of the city now on the cards.
It is becoming increasingly likely that the 24-year-old will exit his current club this summer, but where he goes remains a mystery.
The apparent future away from the London Stadium comes amid a miserable campaign for the Hammers and Rice’s displays for both club and country.
It would certainly make sense for the midfielder to make a move to a side that will play Champions League football next season, having given so much to West Ham during his time at the club.
It’s clear that England boss Gareth Southgate has no issues with selecting Rice while the Hammers are struggling, but a move to a top Premier League club will undoubtedly ensure there is never any worry with selecting Rice for future squads.
