Jack Wilshere names West Ham icon that made him fall in love with football
West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere has named Paolo Di Canio as the one Hammers icon that made him fall in love with football.
The Hammers posted pictures on their official Twitter account on Monday with the likes of Di Canio, Mark Noble and Bobby Moore asking which had the most influence on fans.
Wilshere replied, initially apologising to current skipper Noble, before selecting the controversial Italian.

Many fans responded to Wilshere agreeing with his choice, with the majority claiming that all four have a shot at collecting the crown in east London.
“Di Canio, sorry skip,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Wilshere, a boyhood Hammers fan will have grown up watching players like Di Canio, so there will be no bad blood between him and Noble for his choice.
It’s a shame that Wilshere hasn’t been able to recreate what Di Canio did on the pitch for the Hammers though, with constant injuries a thorn in his side since moving to the London Stadium.

Di Canio hit the ground running at Upton Park after making the switch from Sheffield Wednesday back in 1998.
The Italian scored 66 goals in his Premier League career, 47 of those coming for the Irons in what will be one of the most memorable spells at the club.
Not many brought entertainment on and off the ball such as the winger did, and it is no surprise that he caught the eye of a young Hammers fan such as Wilshere at the time.
