Jack Grealish aims to sabotage West Ham pursuit of Tammy Abraham – Report
Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish will be looking to sabotage West Ham United’s pursuit of Tammy Abraham by convincing him to move to the West Midlands club.
The Hammers’ quest to secure the Abraham signing this summer is likely to go through another hurdle.
According to a report in TEAMtalk, Grealish has assured his club that he can convince the Chelsea striker to join Aston Villa.
Villa did not seem like they were keen on the player, with West Ham understood to have been the favourites. However, Grealish is now expecting to tap into the good relationship he shares with Abraham to try and convince him to move to Villa Park.
However, Hammers still appear to be the favourites as the player prefers staying put in London and David Moyes’ side would offer him European football – something Villa, who finished in 11th – would not.
Sign him quickly
The more this saga drags on the more twists we’re likely to see. While Grealish’s interest would’ve otherwise been something to worry about, the fact that we finished sixth gives us a greater pull than many of the league’s other sides.
Also, the fact that we’re a London club makes it tempting for players to consider moving here. For Abraham, he’s used to life in the capital and will be excited that West Ham are showing an interest in him.
Villa recently signed Ollie Watkins who’s worked out to be a pretty decent acquisition for him. Signing Abraham would mean changing their system or benching one of the two strikers – something both of them would be unwilling to accept.
At West Ham, he’s going to be a guaranteed starter and already has an attacking triplet behind him ready to fire on all cylinders and share his attacking burden.
Our two full-backs have also been pivotal in helping set up chances and having a clinical finisher to put our chances into the back of the net is what we’ve been craving for a while.
Football pundits have also waxed lyrical of the 23-year-old of late. Speaking about him on talkSPORT, Trevor Sinclair labelled Abraham as an ‘elite’ forward.
