‘It’s difficult to argue’ – Jordan delivers verdict on new West Ham deal for Moyes

Simon Jordan believes West Ham fans should be encouraging David Sullivan and David Gold to hand Hammers boss David Moyes a new contract.

The Hammers have started the season brilliantly and with Moyes’ current deal expiring in the summer, Jordan believes he has proved that he is worth a new contract.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan believes that Moyes’ ‘message’ is finally getting across to the Hammers players.

When asked if he thought Moyes deserves a new contract, Jordan said, “It’s difficult to argue that he’s not. He had a little bit of a slow start but he’s got his message across now.

“They started the season with an abysmal performance and they sold the player (Grady Diangana) to West Brom and now they’ve found some form. They’re fifth in the league. I think David Moyes is a very good manager.

“West Ham fans should be biting Sullivan and Gold’s hand off at the wrist to get them to sign Moyes for a longer period of time.”

The Hammers look certain to avoid a relegation fight this season which is incredible at this early stage considering how close the Irons came to playing second-tier football at the end of last season.

There are even suggestions that the club could target a top-six finish this season as West Ham find themselves in the Europa League spots after playing over a quarter of the season.

Few fans will have predicted the turnaround that Moyes has overseen at the London Stadium since he returned to the club and as Jordan said, it is very hard to argue that Moyes isn’t deserving of a new deal.

A new deal for the Irons boss would provide another boost to the club and many Hammers fans will be hoping it is sorted out and announced very soon.
