Issa Diop likely to miss rest of West Ham season with achilles injury – ExWHUemployee
Issa Diop has suffered a ‘serious’ ankle injury and is expected to miss the rest of the season for West Ham United, according to ExWHUemployee.
The French central defender has stepped into the side this season at the expense of the injured Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.
But the 25-year-old has now suffered a potential achilles problem late on against Burnley on Sunday, and Ex shared on his Patreon account that he is now expected to miss the rest of the season.

Ex says that Diop is ‘currently in a lot of pain’ and the injury could be an achilles tendon problem, which leaves the Hammers down to just one fit senior centre-back.
Craig Dawson himself has been battling through the pain barrier in the latter half of the season, and the injury could force David Moyes to move Declan Rice back to defence to accommodate.
Nightmare
West Ham’s worst fears are coming to the fore now, with their lack of investment in defence during the January window coming back to bite them.
Ogbonna was ruled out for the season back in November but West Ham didn’t bring anybody in to cover during the winter transfer window and have battled through with three centre-backs.

They got away with it earlier in the campaign when Dawson and Diop formed a partnership for a while without injuries, but now they must find a new solution.
Rice could move into defence with Mark Noble coming into midfield, but this is also an opportunity for Moyes to dip into the academy with Aji Alese or Jamal Baptiste getting a call up.
Either way, Diop’s injury doesn’t sound good and hopefully it’s not too serious so he can make a full recovery and get back to playing in claret and blue as soon as possible.
