Injury expert: West Ham United without four players for PL clash v Newcastle United
West Ham United are set to be without four players for the Saturday evening trip to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.
Maxwel Cornet has been a long-term absentee for David Moyes and Dinnery has suggested (Premier injuries website) the Ivorian is to remain out of action until 18 February.
Gianluca Scamacca has been out with a knee injury, but it’s understood the Italian striker could well return on 11 February for the Hammers’ clash against Chelsea.

Kurt Zouma is out of action with a quad injury and new signing Danny Ings is also set to miss the game after sustaining an injury on his West Ham debut.
Daunting
The trip to the North East certainly looks like a daunting one for the Hammers. Newcastle have just reached a cup final and are flying in the Premier League with just one defeat so far in the 2022/23 campaign. Realistically a point would be a good result if they can manage it.
It was a quiet transfer window for West Ham and Moyes will now be hoping some of his summer signings excel in the second half of the campaign. Gianluca Scamacca has had bad luck with injuries and has also been inconsistent since his arrival – the Scot will be desperate for the 24-year-old to have a productive second half of the season.

The match against Eddie Howe’s side will be a test of where the Hammers are currently at after their 2-0 win over Everton in their last Premier League fixture. If they can pick up at least a point, there could well be signs that a corner has been turned.
