Injury expert shares West Ham United update ahead of FA Cup showdown v Manchester United
Maxwel Cornet has been “ruled out” of West Ham United’s FA Cup clash against Manchester United on Wednesday evening, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.
The Ivorian winger has been edging closer to a return after a long-standing calf injury but Dinnery has suggested the weekend’s fixture against Brighton is more likely (Premier Injuries).
There are also doubts over Lukasz Fabianski and Vladimir Coufal with Dinnery rating their chances of featuring at Old Trafford at 50 per cent.

Kurt Zouma is also a doubt for the fixture against Erik ten Hag’s side with the Frenchman recovering from a thigh injury.

West Ham fans won’t be heading to Old Trafford expecting too much from their side. The focus now has to be steering clear of the relegation zone and ensuring they progress in the Conference League. An FA Cup run would be welcomed, but it’s certainly not the priority at present.

The weekend’s win over Nottingham Forest was absolutely massive for David Moyes. It was almost a do-or-die situation for the West Ham boss and he certainly delivered when he needed to. The challenge now is to maintain this form and put a run of positive results together.
Their next Premier League fixture against Brighton has always proven to be a tricky test for the Hammers and it’s up to Moyes to show his team has turned a corner with a positive result on the South Coast. It will be good to see Cornet back playing soon, with the summer signing enduring a tough time since his arrival from Burnley.
