Injury expert shares West Ham United update ahead of Chelsea clash
West Ham United are set to be without four players for their Premier League fixture against Chelsea on Saturday, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.
Kurt Zouma and Maxwel Cornet are both longer-term absentees, with neither expected to return to action until the end of February (Premier injuries website).
Dinnery has also “ruled out” Alphonse Aerola and Thilo Kehrer, with both players currently being assessed by the club. One positive for West Ham is that Gianluca Scamacca could well feature, with Dinnery rating the Italian’s chances of featuring on Saturday afternoon at 25 per cent.

Winnable game
This is certainly a winnable game for David Moyes’ men. Chelsea have struggled in the 2022/23 campaign and Graham Potter is certainly getting used to life at Stamford Bridge. There’s been an influx of new players in and there’s certainly a period of settling-in occurring in West London.
Furthermore, Chelsea are actually in the midst of an injury crisis themselves. Dinnery has suggested six first-team players are set to miss the clash at the London Stadium, which provides a further boost to the Hammers.

Considering their poor form and injury situation and poor form, there’s an opportunity for West Ham to build on their impressive point against Newcastle.
The performance in the North East demonstrated that this side is more than capable of competing in the Premier League and that they shouldn’t be embroiled in a relegation battle. Let’s hope the home fixture against Potter’s side is a continuation of their impressive recent form.
