Injury expert shares Newcastle Unitd update ahead of West Ham United Premier League clash
Newcastle United will be without five players for their Premier League clash against West Ham United, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.
Bruno Guimarães’ red card in the League Cup semi-final victory over Southampton means the 25-year-old won’t be available for the clash at St James’ Park.
Javier Manquillo is not expected to return until March and the fixture will come too soon for Alexander Isak, who is set to return on 11 February (Premier injuries). Matt Targett and Emil Krafth are both long-term absentees from Eddie Howe’s plans.

Tough test
A Saturday night clash at St James’ Park is about a tougher test as you can possibly get at the moment. Howe has got the Magpies playing some scintillating football, whilst also ensuring they’re one of the meanest defences in the Premier League.
Their turnaround from the 2022/23 season has been remarkable. West Ham fans will be disappointed to look at the way the two clubs’ fortunes have turned around over the last year. However, it should provide some optimism that more positive times are just around the corner if the Hammers can put a good run of form together.

Saturday’s fixture could well have an added edge to it after Harrison Ashby finally sealed his West Ham exit and completed his move to the North East club. The right-back was desperate to leave the London Stadium and it will be interesting to see if he’s given a run out on Saturday – although it does seem unlikely.
At present, the Hammers would be delighted with a point to take home with them on Saturday evening.
