We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is expected to miss the game against Aston Villa, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert states that there’s not too much to read into the goalkeeper’s setback.

The official ruling is that it’s a knock but it does appear to be something more serious than it.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

Hard to read too much into it because a knock can have so much variance depending on the specific details.

“However, it looks like something more to it as he’s just been given a 25 per cent chance of being fit.

“It’s possible he’s not fit in time for the weekend game.”

The Hammers are unlikely to miss him as Alphonse Areola has become the number one.

David Moyes took his time to trust the Frenchman but he’s now become the undisputed number one.

He’s also done an exceptional job so dropping him does not make any sense.

It also remains to be seen whether he’ll be at the club beyond the January window.
