‘Immense’ – West Ham Super Fans choose MOTM after win v Sheffield United
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

West Ham moved up to eighth in the Premier League standings over the weekend with a narrow 1-0 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Sebastien Haller netted his second goal of the season with a superb strike in the second half as he thundered the ball past Blades goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with a shot just outside the penalty area.
Although Haller opted against celebrating, we’ve no doubt that West Ham fans at home across London, the country and world were off their feet when the Ivory Coast international almost burst the net.
We’ve now asked our panel of West Ham Super Fans to name their man of the match for the win against Sheffield United and while it was Haller who made the headlines, he wasn’t the only player on the lips of Irons supporters.
Here is what they had to say:
Mark Smith (@ironworks68)
Daniele (@uptouptonpark)
James Houlden (@JamesHoulden98)
W. David Row (@wdavidrow)
Kevin Vince (@Kevinvince63)
Andrew Bushell (@Andy_Bushy67)
As well as Haller being singled out for praise, Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna have also been named by our West Ham Super Fans.
And it’s no shock as to why.
According to stats by WyScout, Rice completed 90 per cent of his passes against Sheffield United while also making 10 recoveries and three interceptions.
As for Ogbonna, the Italian centre-back won all of the three defensive duels he was involved in, won eight of his 11 aerial duels and also completed four interceptions and 18 recoveries.
If it was up to us, Ogbonna would get the man of the match award but it’s clearly split among the Super Fans with Haller and Rice also winning the plaudits.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has urged the Hammers to hand Michail Antonio a new long-term contract.
