Immediate Graham Potter sack update after West Ham vs Crystal Palace, replacements ready
Graham Potter’s time at West Ham appears to be coming to an end after the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Hammers got off to a poor start against the Eagles, with Jean-Phillipe Mateta condemning Potter’s side to their seventh goal conceded from a corner this season.
James Ward-Prowse was notably poor against Crystal Palace, but wasn’t substituted off in the second half, which prompted boos in the way of Potter.
Chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” could be heard in the second half of what was a disappointing day all round for the Irons.

West Ham identified managerial candidates before Crystal Palace game
Before the game, West Ham fans lined the streets in protest of David Sullivan and the Hammers hierarchy after recent failures.
Sullivan guided the Irons to an unsuccessful transfer window and has been at fault for the poor managerial changes since David Moyes departed.
West Ham are now eyeing another managerial change after the 2-1 defeat to Palace.
According to BBC Sport via X, the hierarchy had started identifying potential alternatives to Potter prior to the loss.
Nuno Espirito Santo, Slaven Bilic and Gary O’Neil are understood to be among the names discussed by the club.
The trio had been linked alongside Sean Dyche for the West Ham job earlier in the week, but it now appears that efforts to find a new manager will be ramped up.
Bilic managed West Ham between 2015 and 2017 and is open to returning to the London Stadium.
Meanwhile, pictures showing Nuno Espirito Santos in East London have been shared around social media but are yet to be confirmed.
Which candidate suits West Ham most?
Between the three main candidates, Nuno stands out.
The Portuguese manager was sacked by Nottingham Forest after a disagreement with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
- Bilic had a win percentage of 37% and a points per game of 1.33
- Meanwhile, Nuno averaged 1.77 points per game last season
- Gary O’Neil had a points per game of 1.13 at Wolves
While his fractious relationship with owners could cause uncertainty in the future, his recent success is too much to turn down.
In comparison, O’Neil and Bilic have failed in their recent managerial spells, and Nuno is best positioned to help the Hammers climb the league again.
