Idris Elba hits back at Jarrod Bowen after new Arsenal admission at West Ham

Idris Elba has fired back at Jarrod Bowen as West Ham prepare for a trip to The Emirates to face Arsenal in the Premier League.

Having lost 5-2 in the reverse fixture, West Ham will be looking to inflict revenge on the Gunners when they travel to The Emirates on 22 February.

Both sides have ambitions of their own to achieve come the end of the season, with the Irons hoping to continue their revival under Graham Potter.

Bowen, having recently returned from injury for West Ham, will have a key role in the game, with an early claim made by the forward immediately shut down by Elba.

Jarrod Bowen can make Idris Elba regret his own words

Elba, who is a lifelong Arsenal supporter, may be forced to regret comments made come the end of the game if Bowen can deliver on his promise.

Speaking to Sky Sports (12 February), Elba said: “[Bowen] said he’s going to do the one celebration. I was like no, don’t worry. You’re not gonna score.”

Quite frankly, if the Irons are to score in the game, it is rather likely to be Bowen given the stunning form he has showcased for West Ham this season.

If that is to be the case, Elba will be made to look rather silly given his comments ahead of the clash and here’s hoping that West Ham can have the last laugh.

West Ham have a crucial fixture before Arsenal encounter

While the prospect of a clash with Arsenal is exciting, the Irons must focus on the task at hand which is a home encounter with Brentford.

West Ham certainly need a win, having failed to come away victorious in any of their last three Premier League matches with their most recent one ending in defeat to Chelsea.

Not only will Bowen be crucial to any result against Arsenal, but his ability will be needed at the London Stadium if the Irons are to secure all three points against Brentford.

While it may be highly unlikely, West Ham are not safe from relegation, and a failure to pick up points will see the pressure increase on them as the season goes on.
