Ibrahim Sanagre will not move to West Ham United this summer after signing new contract with PSV Eindhoven

West Ham United target Ibrahim Sangare will not leave PSV Eindhoven this summer after signing a new contract with the Eredivisie club according to freelance journalist Fraser Fletcher.

The Daily Mail revealed (7 August) that West Ham had switched their attentions to the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international after missing out on Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.

However, Sangare has signed a new deal with PSV which will keep him at the Dutch club until the summer of 2027.

Former BBC journalist Fletcher revealed (via Twitter, 7 August) that the midfielder won’t move anywhere this summer despite interest from the Hammers.

Priority?

Is the centre of midfield really a priority for David Moyes at the moment?

He has three good options to choose from in the middle of the park and other areas of his squad are surely a more pressing concern for the Hammers.

Moyes has added versatile Burnley winger Maxwel Cornet to his squad but could still do with an out-and-out left back to provide good competition for Aaron Cresswell.

Cornet will be able to fill in the left-back role but is far better suited to playing in a three-at-the-back system, where he can operate as a wing-back.

West Ham

Another centre-back is also a pressing concern for Moyes with Nayef Aguerd’s injury a major blow to the Hammers’ defensive unit.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has suggested that the Hammers are looking at Wolves defender Conor Coady as Moyes searches for cover for the injured Moroccan defender.

Adding another midfielder to his ranks would be Moyes fine-tuning his squad.

A younger player who could potentially develop would be an ideal addition for the West Ham boss should he decide to add another midfielder to his ranks.
