Ian Wright wowed by West Ham United striker Danny Ings in 4-0 win v Nottingham Forest

Ian Wright has raved about West Ham striker Danny Ings as the Hammers won 4-0 against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (25 February) at the London Stadium.

While watching the footage of Ings’ goal on Premier League tv Production after the game (3.18.20min), Wright said that the 30-year-old striker can make a “difference” for the Hammers.

Ings, who made his first start for the Hammers since joining them in January from Aston Villa, scored twice on Saturday. Declan Rice and Michail Antonio added the other two goals.

“We said at the start of the game the importance of forwards they have got on the pitch, someone like Danny Ings,” said Wright on Premier League Tv production (25 February).

“He can be the difference especially when you are at this end of the table, trying to win games. He will get these chances and will take those half chances when he gets them, and that’s what they need.”

Fixture

Every point is vital at the moment, and the next few games are crucial for the Hammers.

They face Brighton, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Southampton in their next four Premier League games.

The Hammers must look to pick up at least nine points from these games, which will boost their survival hopes.

Ings can make a big difference for the Hammers. He is a poacher, a fox in the box, and someone who doesn’t miss enough clear-cut chances.

Moyes will be buoyed by the form of Jarrod Bowen, who appears to have hit a new gear just at the right time.

Bowen has been below par this season. The 26-year-old has managed seven goals and two assists in all competitions this season, but he has looked like getting back to his old best in recent weeks.

With Gianluca Scamacca back in the side, and Maxwel Cornet returning to full fitness as well, the Hammers can look forward to climbing up the league table quickly.
