Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Gary Neville disagree over prediction of West Ham United clash v Sheffield United
Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Gary Neville have all disagreed on their predictions for West Ham United’s clash with Sheffield United this weekend.
Speaking to the Stick to Football podcast (18 January), the panel were asked to make their picks for this week’s Super 6 game with the Premier League weekend fixtures scattered due to the winter break.
But after their shock FA Cup exit in midweek the panel were split on if the Hammers would get the win, which led to disagreement between the cast.
“West Ham will bounce back. It might be a draw but West Ham will certainly get a result,” Keane said.
“Yeah but no Paqueta, maybe no Bowen,” Wright responded. “Sheffield will beat them. 2-1 Sheffield. It’s at Brammall Lane. It’s a good one for them, West Ham are still bruising.
Jamie Carragher and Neville then discussed it and felt a draw was more appropriate.
“This is a game Sheffield United have to win. Have they got enough to win a game? 1-1,” Carragher said, before Neville agreed with the scoreline.
Must win
West Ham are winless in their last three games in all competitions, and are yet to pick up a win in 2024 after draws with Brighton and Bristol City before defeat to the latter in midweek.
Obviously that is something that needs to change quickly to get back on track, but the team are suffering with injuries and that won’t be ideal.

Paqueta is a huge blow and will definitely be out of the game, while Jarrod Bowen is unlikely to be 100% fit even if he is able to return. The team are also without Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd as they are at AFCON.
But Sheffield United have been pretty bad this season and a trip to Brammall Lane will no doubt be difficult to deal with with top players out, but it’s the type of game where we simply must win to get the campaign back on track.
With a nice long break between this game and the next fixture against Bournemouth Moyes has to find a way to get a result and get morale back up around the club, and hopefully prove Roy Keane right in the process.
In other West Ham news, Hammers now “likely” to sign “phenomenal” ex-PL forward before deadline day.
