Ian Wright issues West Ham injury fears after Kurt Zouma news

Ian Wright believes that West Ham are a few injuries away from falling apart despite lauding them for their terrific European campaign.

Defender Kurt Zouma could be out for the rest of the season, leaving them with only two fit centre-backs in Issa Diop and Craig Dawson.

After their midweek win over Lyon, they dropped two points at home to Burnley as they played out a 1-1 draw with them in the Premier League on Sunday.

Zouma’s 19th minute header cancelled out Spurs’ early opener and ensured a point for West Ham.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Wright said, “The squad is so close to falling apart. They’re a few injuries away from it all going bad. Kurt Zouma is also injured now.”

The Hammers squad is not as deep as David Moyes would have liked it to be.

Throughout January, he said that the club were working on getting players through the door.

That not only would have helped them in an injury crisis but also boosted their chances of finishing in the top four.

However, as always, David Gold and David Sullivan let down the Hammers and their manager.

An injury to Michail Antonio will all but end their chances of finishing in the top six.

While focus turns on the Europa League, failure to win that and falling out of the top six will suddenly look like a bad season for the Hammers.

Hopefully, none of the players suffer any further injuries from until the end of the season.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a permanent move this summer.
