Ian Wright and Alan Shearer make sack admission on West Ham United manager David Moyes

Alan Shearer and Ian Wright believe that things aren’t good at West Ham behind the scenes and this sort of form can get a manager sacked.

Discussing David Moyes’ future after the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle at home on Wednesday, 5 April, Shearer stated that the Hammers play like they can be beaten by any team.

Wright admitted that these kinds of results are never good for a manager and more often than not result in them losing their jobs.

He said on Premier League Productions at 22:25 on 5 April, “Managers do get sacked on these kinds of performances. Moyes was hunched over when they were 2-0 down. At home, he needs everything, they need to be fighting for it. It’s tough for him.”

To which Shearer responded, “Exactly. It’s a very fragile football club. There’s frustration in the crowd. The players also look fragile and anyone seems like they can beat them.”

Everyone can see it

Usually, pundits are the last ones to call for the sack of a manager and while these two aren’t saying it in so many words, it’s easy to read between the lines.

It’s baffling that despite a very realistic threat of relegation and none of the players playing to their true potential, the board is continuing to back Moyes.

At some clubs, he would’ve been sacked twice by now and it would’ve been an easy decision to explain as he appears to have lost the plot.

The West Ham board remarkably keeps giving him chance after chance and by now it seems like they’re just saying that for fan appeasement.

Declan Rice and Mark Noble were spotted giving it to Moyes and it definitely could be a sign of him losing his authority at the club.

What ensues after this is anyone’s guess but even if they lose to Fulham, the chances of him going do not seem to be high.
